Kate Avery
My friend Kate died all too quickly of pancreatic cancer a year ago today. She was an incredibly strong woman throughout many difficulties in her life. She brought up her two daughters single-handed and did an amazing job. They are two wonderful young women. She always cared about what was going on with me and many other friends. I miss her sharp, questioning intelligence, bravery and great sense of humour.
