Winifred Muir
My grandmother, was an amazing woman. She brought up 3 girls alone when her husband was lost at sea during World War 11.
She cooked and offered shelter to her neighbours who were bombed out. She had been "in service" to the Bishop of Exeter before she married and her cooking was amazing .
After the war her husband returned but was so traumatized that he took his own life a few years later.
She then had her elderly mother live with her and looked after her until she died.
