Gladys Aylward

Gladys was a small woman, like me. But she was a woman strong of faith and courage. Against all odds she went to China as a missionary , where she worked for twenty years. She adopted many local children, and took a hundred of them over the mountains on a twelve day march to safety . During the invasion of the Japanese, in world war two. I saw her speak once in Liverpool and will never forget that small woman. Such an inspiration.
