Ennis Gibbons (nee Angus)
Ennis was my grandmother. She faced terrible prejudice after having her first child 'out of wedlock' in the early 20th century. She had to deal with antisemitism due to stereotypes based on scientific racism. Her answer to ageism when trying to find employment in later life was to fib about her age, so none of us really knew how old she was. She's been gone thirty years and I still hear horrid slander about her. She called me her Bobby Dazzler. Without hatred she wouldn't have needed to lie.
