My mother
An "ordinary woman"my mother lived her life in the Rhondda Valley. She had 2 sisters and 2 brothers although both boys died young. Her parents were working class.
As a young woman she went into service in London but came home to care for her ageing parents. She & my father married when he was 44. I was born two years later - an only child. Mam cared for Dad & me, cooking meals, doing washing & household chores. She was "nothing special" but to me, she was everything. I still miss her.
